CARE AND MAINTENANCE

PROTECTION & TREATMENT

Remember to always use high quality, non toxic products to ensure the cleaning process is safe for you and safe to use on the surfaces you are cleaning. Here are a few tips on how to protect and treat the materials we work with:

Granite and Marble Tops

These have the tendency to become porous so avoid staining and spilling of dark-coloured liquids like red wine and beetroot. Treat spills with warm soapy water using mild detergent and damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning products like bleach, ammonia or lemon juice.

Reconstituted Stone Tops

In the event of a spill, you can use warm soapy water and damp cloth or use quality spray and wipe type cleaner. For stubborn stains, use a cream cleanser like Ceasarstone.

2 Pac Painted Doors

Use a microfibre cloth to enhance gloss and remove fingerprints. Do not use solvent based cleaning products, abrasive cloth, scourer or cleanser to avoid scratching. In the event your 2 pac surface gets a chip, you may do a touch up paint.

Glass Splashbacks

For a streak free, smudge free finish, use microfibre cloths without chemicals. Clean with a quality spray and wipe type cleaner or warm soapy water.

Laminates

Streaks, grease, spills and stains are the most common surface damages that you will encounter. Remember that accidental spills must be wiped straight away. If simple soapy and microfibre cloth cannot remove marks from streaks and grease, use an all-purpose cleaner such as Windex spray cleaner or Ajax Spray ‘n’ Wipe.

If stubborn stains cannot be removed with Extra Strength Windex, try methylated spirits or dab the stain with a diluted mixture consisting of 8 parts water and 1 part bleach. Leave it for 3 minutes before washing off and finish with Extra Strenth Windex. As a last resort, you can try 2 or 3 rubs of crème cleanser or white toothpaste then wash and dry. Be careful with using bleach or abrasive cleaners as they can damage your laminated surface.

Specific Care for Laminex Laminates

All Laminex Laminates should be immediately cleaned and maintained using a soft cloth and mild dishwashing detergent. Avoid heavy build up of dirt by using Windex or Ajax Spray ‘n’ Wipe cleaners. This maintenance applies to Squareform Benchtops, Fire Retardant Laminates, Chemical Resistant Laminates, Aquapanel Wet Area Panelling, Vizage Wall Lining, Fusion Laminates and Compact Laminate Squareform, Diamond Gloss Laminates, Metallic and Stainless Steel Laminates.

For Laminex Diamond Gloss Laminates, use a glass window cleaner if the stain persists. Remember not to use abrasive cleaners as they will mark the high gloss surface.

For persistent marks of Laminex Innovations Metallic and Stainless Steel Laminates, use a glass window cleaner or methylated spirits, never abrasive cleaners. Remember to not use solvents, acids, or alkalines on metallic laminates. For stainless steel laminates, you can use a specialty cleaner if necessary.
